Tips & Tricks
Here are 5 hair tips and 5 skin care tips that will help make your wedding/special occasion run smoothly.
Hair
- If you plan to get a complete hair make over my advice is to get it done a couple months before the day of the wedding/special occasion. This will give you time to get use to the change. Most important, to make sure you are comfortable and happy with your new look.
- Book your color and haircut within 2 weeks of your wedding/special occasion for Fresh vibrant look.
- Book your hair trial within 2 weeks of your wedding/special occasion. If you're not great at explaining a hair style, pictures always help. This will ensure that both you and your stylist know what's expected the day of.
- Wash and dry your hair the night before the wedding/special occasion. Please make sure your hair is completely dry the morning of. This will help keep your stylist on schedule and ensure that your hair style holds all day long.
- Don't use any straightening styling products when blow drying because this will make it difficult for your stylist to curl or add texture in your hair. Also dry your fringe/bangs where you would desire or normally part it.
Skin
- A good skin care regimen is important to maintain all the time. Be sure to cleanse, use a toner to restore your skin's ph levels and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!! This will make your skin glow as you have all eyes on you! One week prior to having your makeup done, exfoliate to slough off any dry skin and maintain your skin care regimen throughout the next week.
- Get some sleep! I know, I know... with all the stress of planning for a wedding or special event, this one is hard, but the more rested, the more radiant your skin will appear. It helps keep your makeup artist from battling dark circles or bags under your eyes.
- A couple days before the day of your wedding or special event, take a soft toothbrush and Vaseline and lightly brush your lips to exfoliate any rough spots and make your lips soft and supple. Lipstick will glide on effortlessly and not get caked up in dry areas on the lips.
- Ask your makeup artist what you may need for touch ups later in your day after they are done vamping you up! Your makeup should last fairly well all day and into the night when done professionally, but things like lipstick may need to be reapplied after the big smooch as husband and wife ;) A great time to go over this is during your trial which should be booked a few weeks prior to your big day.
- Enjoy your day and take in every moment. Smile. You'll always look good in that ;)
